Lanzarote is one of the Spanish Canary Islands and is situated just 70 miles off the coast of Africa. The island is 37 miles long and 12 miles wide.

The Canary Island of Lanzarote is volcanic in origin due to the eruptions during the 18th and 19th centuries. The volcanoes can be seen at Timanfaya National Park and Montanas del Fuego (Mountains of Fire).

Lanzarote enjoys a mild dry climate all year round with little rainfall, making it the perfect all year round holiday destination. Playa Blanca on the Southern tip usually gets the best of the sun.

Playa Blanca has a cosmopolitan feel with a new upmarket ‘Marina Rubicon’ filled with luxury yachts, beautiful beaches designer boutiques and waterside cafes and restaurants.

Excellent tourist attractions can be found in Lanzarote.

These include camel rides, caves, water park, Sunday Market, lagoon and wine tasting to name just a few.

It is not difficult to get around Playa Blanca as both taxis and car hire in Lanzarote are very reasonably priced. There is also a new bus service in Playa Blanca which operates every half hour and this enables people to travel from one end of the town to the other with many stops on the route including a Faro Park bus stop. Please see the timetable here.

There are also many sports to participate in – swimming, cycling, diving, fishing, tennis, many watersports, karting, golf and walking.

We recommend that you hire a car so that you can see the best of Lanzarote. Please do not hesitate to contact us if you need assistance with flights or car hire.

There are flights to Lanzarote most days.  The airport in Lanzarote is Arrecife (ACE).
